Terms & conditions

Last updated 14 August 2026. These terms form part of every Rando rental agreement.

1. Driver eligibility

  • · The renter must hold a valid, non-provisional driver license issued at least 12 months before pickup.
  • · The minimum rental age is 21 in most US markets and 25 for premium, luxury and specialty classes.
  • · Renters aged 21–24 pay a young renter surcharge that is disclosed before payment.
  • · Additional drivers must present their license at the counter and meet the same eligibility rules.

2. Payment and credit card holds

  • · A credit card in the renter's name is required at pickup. Debit cards are accepted only at participating non-airport stations with additional identification.
  • · Pay at Counter reservations authorize the estimated rental total plus a $250 incidental hold.
  • · Pay Now reservations authorize a $150 incidental hold.
  • · Authorization holds are released within 3–7 business days of vehicle return; the timing of funds availability is determined by your bank.

3. Cancellations and no-shows

  • · Pay at Counter reservations may be cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled pickup.
  • · Pay Now reservations cancelled within 24 hours of pickup incur a $25 fee.
  • · Failure to collect the vehicle within four hours of the scheduled pickup time is a no-show; prepaid amounts are forfeited.

4. Fuel, mileage and tolls

  • · Vehicles are supplied with a full tank and must be returned full, or refueling is billed at the posted rate plus a service charge.
  • · Most rentals include unlimited mileage. Specialty, luxury and one-way rentals include 250 miles per day with overage billed at $0.29 per mile.
  • · Electronic tolls incurred during the rental are billed to the payment card with a per-day administrative fee.

5. Prohibited use

  • · Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any impairing substance.
  • · Use for racing, off-road driving, towing, driving instruction or transporting hazardous materials.
  • · Use by any driver not listed on the rental agreement.
  • · Cross-border travel that is not expressly authorized on the agreement.

6. Damage and liability

  • · The renter is financially responsible for loss or damage to the vehicle unless a collision damage waiver was accepted.
  • · State minimum liability coverage is included in US rentals; supplemental liability protection may be purchased.
  • · Damage discovered after return is documented photographically and disclosed to the renter within five business days.

7. Governing law

  • · These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles.
  • · Rando may amend these terms; the version in force is the one displayed at the time of booking.
